Marlborough Dwelling Fire

Friday, February 8, 2013 At 1220 hours Box 79-01 was dispatched for a reported dwelling fire on Hoppenville Road in Marlborough Township.  Due on the box were E42, T42, R42, TW65, SQ71, E87 and T87.  Engine 42 arrived to find heavy smoke showing and Chief 42 arrived next and added 10 tankers to assist due to the area not having hydrants.  E42 pulled  a line to Side C where the bulk of the fire was showing.  TW65 arrived and was advised to pull a line and take interior via Side A.  Crews made an interior attack for about 15 minutes before being pulled out due to heavy fire conditions and the water supply not being fully operational.  TW65 raised the bucket to the roof to set up for master stream operations once water was established.  Tankers were being filled at Rockwells Restaurant and were supplying porta tanks on one side of te fire and a phantom manifold on the other side of the fire.  Crews worked for a little over an hour to bring the fire under control and then worked for another hour performing overhaul.  SS65 set up cascade operations near the fire scene and EMS set up rehab as well. Numerous other units assisted at the scene and thanks to Bucks Sq18 and Montco R74 for providing coverage during the fire and helping get TW65 back in service.  Fire Police had the road shut for the duration of the call.
